Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh receives outgoing Director of KOICA in Vietnam

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Standing Member of the Central Military Commission (CMC), and Deputy Minister of National Defense, on February 5, received Mr. Kim Jinoh, outgoing Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Viet Nam.

The host highly appreciated the guest’s contributions during his three-year working term in Vietnam, as well as  KOICA's role in developing the relationsship between Vietnam and the RoK.

Both sides reviewed the outstanding cooperation results in addressing war legacy in Vietnam, including: a 20 – mn – USD mine action project in Quang Binh and Binh Dinh provinces funded by the RoK’s government, and Environmental Remediation of Dioxin Contamination at Da Nang Airport Project.

In the coming time, Vietnam and the RoK will promote the implementation of several cooperation contents, including expanding mine action projects in Quang Nam and Quang Tri provinces, and implementing a technical assistance project to detoxify dioxin-contaminated areas at A Sho airport in the central province of Thua Thien - Hue.

The RoK side committed to assisting Vietnam in personnel training and improving capacity to build databases in post-war consequence relief.

Mr. Kim Jinoh expressed gratitude towards Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh and leaders of the  Ministry of National Defense (MND) for supporting him during his working term. He promised to play an active part in promoting the friendship and cooperation between the Vietnam’s MND and KOICA, as well as the two countries.
